Furniture is manufactured using different kind of wood materials typically from particle board, fiberboard and plywood. Pieces are assembled and joined using glues, adhesive bonds,fixing dowels and fastenings. Veneers are applied to protect furniture and produce an attractive finish.Since most furniture items are load-bearing it is critical that these joints and finishes can withstand the forces placed on them over their expected lifetime.
