The Orbis digital torque tester is ideally suited for basic clockwise and counter-clockwise torque tests.
Manually operated and measuring up to
Providing data with significantly greater accuracy than analogue torque devices, it’s a simple and cost-effective solution for a variety of torque applications.

The Tornado digital torque tester is ideally suited for the testing of application and removal torque on caps and closures.
Manually operated, the Tornado range has 4 models with capacities ranging from 1.5 -
Its ability to detect initial bridge torque and peak torque make it the instrument of choice for testing closures with tamper-evident seals.

Emperor™ Software

VectorPro® Lite software
Available as an optional extra to Mecmesin's Orbis, Tornado and AFTI digital force and torque testing instruments, VectorPro Lite is an advanced data acquisition and plotting software package.
Simply select the appropriate interface cable for your Mecmesin torque instrument and you are ready to enhance your testing with the power of VectorPro Lite.
Advanced data acquisition and plotting

Live torque values are captured and automatically sent to VectorPro Lite to plot the graph of torque vs time/angle. This helps to visually identify any events during the test which cannot be picked up by just having a peak reading on the instrument display.
To help determine whether your sample has met the necessary criteria, there is a suite of standard calculations with indicators of pass or fail to immediately alert the operator.
A statistical analysis of results per batch of samples is produced and then incorporated, together with the graphs, into a customisable PDF or csv test report for your customer.
Accessories
Choosing your accessories
It's important that your sample is gripped and held correctly to achieve accurate test results.
Our accessory catalogue contains a wide range of accessories and you should find exactly what you need. Key specifications (such as load rating) are listed on all of our grips and fixtures.

Orbis
The Orbis cap torque tester is ideally suited to a wide range of screw-type closures and other components where application and removal torque need to be measured accurately.
The versatile container fixing table features adjustable gripping pegs to hold containers of various different shapes and sizes. An IP-54 rated splash-resistant case is easy to clean making it the perfect portable solution for torque testing in production and quality control areas.
Torque values can be measured in all common units (mN.m, N.m, lbf.in, ozf.in, kgf.cm) and displayed in peak-hold or live-display modes. Accidental changes to these settings by the operator can be prevented by using the keypad lock feature.
Once the test is completed the results can instantly be sent via RS232 or digimatic format to a printer or PC for further analysis and reporting.
Mains or battery-powered means that this portable device can be used just about anywhere. Weighing just 3 kg and fitted with an ergonomic carrying handle, it can be easily taken with you when visiting customers or suppliers.
With such extensive capabilities at an affordable price, the Orbis is widely used around the world on production lines across industries as diverse as beverages, medical, cosmetics, automotive and many more.
Tornado
The Tornado cap torque tester has all the functionality and features of the Orbis with some important added extras.
A configurable first-peak function, coupled with the standard maximum reading, ensures that both the initial slip torque and also the bridge torque are captured. This is of particular interest when measuring the performance of tamper-evident closures (e.g. ROPP) where a maximum reading alone is insufficient to determine both characteristics. An onboard memory of up to 500 results is also available for mass storage when batch testing and can be downloaded later to a printer or PC.
The Tornado also features 5 different configurable alarm settings to suit individual closure types. Each setting will alert an operator with a buzzer and/or red & green lights to indicate during testing whether the torque reading is within or outside its tolerance limit.
To avoid the risk of operators inadvertently changing units of measurement or the operating mode, there is a password-protected lock function. This is particularly useful when the instrument is being used over several shifts by operators of differing skill levels.
