Wine packaging has a great influence on the quality of the product delivered to the customer. Traditionally, natural or synthetic corks have been used to seal wine and champagne bottles, the industry has also developed alternative screw cap options aimed at achieving more consistent and reliable performance without sacrificing quality.

We'll be looking at calculating the cork removal strength, the relationship between application torque and removal torque, setting the best removal torque value standard (ASTM D3198) . As well as discussing the impact different types of cork styles can have on testing and establishing Pass/Fail criteria.
