Senior Software Test Engineer

We are seeking a Lead Software Tester for both software and firmware products with test design, test planning, execution, and reporting/documentation. We need someone who has the passion for delivering software products to the highest standard, and to champion automated testing environments when the manual based testing environments can be avoided or minimized, and ensuring Software Quality Assurance.

You will have experience of developing, maintaining, and improving testing processes by actively using the latest tools and cloud based technologies.

We would expect you to have as essential requirements:

  • Software Testing, Engineering or STEM related qualifications.
  • Solid experience in software testing for software/firmware products.
  • Solid experience in writing, preparing, and maintaining test plans, test scripts and reports.
  • Techniques and experience in designing and implementing automated testing for software/firmware products.
  • Sound understanding of SDLC with experience in application testing, system testing, regression testing and performance testing.
  • Organised approach to work with good communication skills across multiple departments

Desirable Requirements:

  • Degree in Software Testing/Engineering or STEM Degree in related fields.
  • Knowledge and experience with Git/GitHub, JIRA, Active Directory, SQL, Python
  • An appreciation of the physical principles of Force and Torque and their daily life applications.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and defect tracking and Software Quality Assurance.
  • Knowledge/experience with Git/GitHub, and JIRA.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory.
  • Experience with writing SQL queries.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python for automated testing.
  • Experience in mentoring junior testers.

Location: Slinfold, West Sussex

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
