Emperor (Torque)

Emperor Torque combines a simple and intuitive interface with powerful programming functionality to create the ultimate in Torque testing software. Written specifically for use with the Vortex-i bench-top torque test stands, Emperor Torque enables quality professionals to create sophisticated torque procedures and analyses.

Emperor-based Torque systems provide impressive reliability, machine control and data-acquisition performance.

Test Creation

Emperor's built-in test program commands provide everything you need to create your test program whether it's a simple single step test or a complex multi-stage procedure.
With extensive functionality including provision for:

  • Run to torque/displacement/time functions
  • Prompt / delay / resume facility
  • Pausing the test
  • Cycling and loop commands
  • Conditional statements
  • Goto functions
  • Optional 'event' feature for testing switch actuation

Data Acquisition and Display

To see the fine detail in torque measurements, you need to collect data quickly.  Emperor constantly samples data from the load cell 2000 times a second, which allows for the fastest of test features to be faithfully recorded.  For specimens that exhibit long periods of stable behaviour, Emperor can filter your data down to a sampling rate as low as 10Hz.  This not only saves on disk space, but also serves to smooth any 'noise' that may detract from the features of interest.

Test data is displayed graphically and multiple sample tests can be overlayed for quick comparison.  Plots can be interrogated using the zoom, timeline and cursor-drop
facilities, and axes/units can be changed post-test.  Tests can also be replayed in real-time or faster so points of interest during the test can be relived and scrutinised more closely.  Unlike some other computer controlled systems available, loadcell deflection compensation is implemented by Mecmesin's intelligent load cell (ILC) requiring no user intervention

Calculations

Emperor allows you to make use of the standard calculations included with Emperor, such as

  • Average
  • Multiple peak and trough identification
  • Slope
  • Area
  • Best fit straight line

Other, more sophisticated functions are available for the more demanding test data, like the ability to detect a step change in the test data and a slope change, with the kink function and, of course, you can create your own function using bespoke variables.

On top of this, for ultimate flexibility all calculations are applied post-test so that data can be recalculated without having to re-test the specimen.  Pass/Fail analysis will give immediate feedback of specimen viability.

Reporting

At Mecmesin, we understand the importance of communicating results of technical testing effectively.  Emperor has comprehensive reporting facilities that allow data to be printed directly or exported for further manipulation or inclusion into documents.

Emperor caters for all reporting requirements with additional functionality such as:

  • Executive summary reporting
  • Batch reporting of results, graphs and statistics
  • Global `out of tolerance` detection
  • Tolerance band display

Multiple security levels

Emperor allows for 'operator' and 'Master' levels of access to ensure:

  • Integrity of test procedures
  • Security of data
  • Consistency of reporting
