The CAPTEST is a tough and affordable manual digital cap torque tester, measuring clockwise and anticlockwise torques up to 5 N.m. Its IP54 splash proof stainless steel housing makes it ideal for clean rooms and pharmaceutical environments. It can be combined with a printer or statistical mini-processor for regular, repetitive testing of screw-top closures.

The release torque of sparkling wine closures is measured with a Mecmesin CombiCork tester fitted with pneumatic clamps to hold different sized bottle securely in place.

Mecmesin demonstrates an automated bottle closure testing system used to check the performance of bottle capping machines in volume beverage bottle filling plants. The system can check the correct closure force has been applied by measuring the slip and bridge torque on 18 samples in less than 10 minutes.

The FPT-H1 horizontal Friction, Peel and Tear tester is used to measure the strength of flexible seals often used in the packaging for medical devices. Measurements can be made according to ASTM F88 or EN 868-5 standards, with all the required calculations handled by Emperor™ software. Results can be recorded in customisable reports.

Mandrels are used when measuring the opening and closing forces associated with caps and closures on bottles, jars and other containers. The mandrel grips the closure evenly and uniformly minimising distortion. When used with Mecmesin's computer controlled Vortex-i motor driven torque measurement stand, readings can be made accurately and repeatably.

Loop tack tests measure the bond formed by pressure sensitive adhesives when brought briefly into contact with another surface. International standards, ASTM D6195 method A, PSTC-16 method A and FINAT N0. 9 can be performed using Mecmesin’s MultiTest-xt console controlled test stand, driven by Emperor software.
